Pipe Major Dennis Mino Bagpipe Instructor	Piping Classes If you are interested in joining The Band, this page is for you... The Band has requirements for membership. If you are a Police Officer and already play the Pipes or Drum and wish to apply for membership, please contact the Bandmaster. If you are a Police Officer and wish to learn to play here is some information about The Band that may be helpful in making your decision. Lessons are held regularly at the Westchester County Police Academy, Dana Road, Valhalla, NY on Monday evenings at 5:45 P.M. (Except certain holidays) P/M Dennis Mino provides beginner and advanced bagpipe lesson classes at the Academy. The classes go from 5:45-7pm. A Practice Chanter and the College of Piping Tutor I (the green book) - can be purchased at the Pipers Cove at www.piperscove.com The weekly cost for lessons is $25.00, payable at the end of each night's lesson. We will be accepting anyone for lessons as long as they are 18 years of age or older. Civilians interested in entering the Band would have to be determined by the board so as to conform to the 6% rule. Please contact the Dennis Mino if you are interested in finding out when the next class will start. If you have some bagpipe chanter or drumming experience you may be able to fit into a class already in session. In order to become a probationary member of The Band, a piper applicant must be able to play approximately 19 tunes selected by the Pipe Major. When ready, an audition is scheduled. The applicant piper will then perform for the music committee.

Drum Sergeant J.D. Apostilico		DRUMMERS ARE NEEDED! Drumming classes are also started as needed. Currently The Band is canvassing for drummer applicants. Prospective drummers are also required to pass an audition before the music committee.
