2007
As
we begin a new year our membership and enthusiasm has continued to
grow leaps and bounds. Our mission to keep the Irish tradition alive
in our music will expand and improve with each new tune we learn.
We will be learning new tunes as well as bringing back some
of the older ones, but mixing them into different sets. The drum
settings have really come along and it is now time to make use of
these settings and incorporate them into our music.
Practices will be more structured and we will be holding a
practice once a month with chanters only.
Pipes will not be played that night. This will coincide with
the monthly band meetings which are held on the first Monday of each
month. This will ensure that we have a larger group of members to be
present at
this time, for the learning of new tunes as well as tune
“clean-up”. As we
draw closer to the marching season we will work on tune selections
as well as coordinate with the Drum Major proper times to practice
marching. The key to
having a successful year depends entirely on each member and their
dedication to keeping up with the repertoire and attending
practices.
Thank you and God Bless.
